Choose where you would like to begin.

The eight tools

Each Declaration to Constitution essay comes with a companion instrument. Use the one that matches where you are in the series, or start wherever your question is.

  • [The Madisonian Civic Checkup] — companion to Madison the Clinician (existing link — keep)

  • [The Promise-to-Practice Gap Scan] — companion to The Promise and the Problem

  • [The Institutional Symptom Check] — companion to Diagnosing the Modern Body Politic (existing link — keep)

  • [Where Is Power Concentrating?] — companion to The Constitutional Treatment Plan

  • [The Public Information Audit] — companion to The People Are the Sovereign

  • [The Salutogenic Civic AI Test] — companion to Passions Against Passions in the Age of AI

  • [The Ecosystem Map] — companion to Reclaiming the Role of Citizen

Understand the system

Democracy isn't one mechanism you can fix with one election — it's a layered system, from citizen capacity up through rights, institutions, information, and the economy. The Democracy Stack helps make that system legible; the Citizen Toolbox turns that understanding into action — the Tracer for following a decision through the system, the Citizen Brief for the evidence behind a specific question, and the Citizen Commission for sustained, organized deliberation.

(This section reuses the shared, cross-initiative Democracy Stack/Citizen Toolbox framing already established — it should link to the shared Citizen Toolbox page rather than duplicating its content here, the same relationship Head Start's own Act page has to that shared page.)

Respond to the case

The tools above are for engaging with individual essays. If you've read the whole series, or want to weigh in on the integrated diagnosis directly, that happens at the Case of the United States.
