Meta title: How We Work | Moonshot Press
Meta description: Moonshot Press's Constitution, AI use policy, corrections record, funding sources, and masthead — how a one-person publication operates in the open.
A newsroom that asks you to trust it should be willing to show you its rules. This is where we do that.
Why AI matters here — and why we're careful with it
Moonshot Press is only possible at this scale because of artificial intelligence. AI helps us research, synthesize, and sharpen what we publish, at a scope that would otherwise require a much larger staff.
But we hold that to one strict, standing rule: AI recommends, humans decide. Always. AI never makes the final call on what gets published, how a story gets framed, or what we stand for. Whenever AI meaningfully shapes something we publish, we say so — not in fine print, but plainly, because we think that transparency is itself a civic argument: that AI, governed openly and pointed at human flourishing, can strengthen democracy instead of eroding it.
That governance isn't a vague promise. It's written down.
Everything below is that principle made specific:
-
Constitution → — our full public charter for civic journalism, democratic AI, and citizen trust. Read it, question it, hold us to it.
-
AI Policy → — exactly how AI shapes our work, and exactly where it doesn't.
-
Corrections → — our record, published in the open, not buried.
-
Funding & Support → — who pays for this, and who doesn't.
-
Masthead → — who does the work. Currently, one person.
-
FAQ → — quick answers to what people ask most.
