Moonshot Press is more than a publication. It is an evolving civic ecosystem: connected journalism, public deliberation, practical tools, responsible technology, and local community work.
Each part has a different role. Together, they help citizens understand complex public questions, deliberate constructively, and take meaningful action.
Our central question is simple:
How can we create the conditions in which every person—and every child—has a genuine opportunity to flourish in a thriving democracy?
Our North Star
Every child is born with equal worth.
Whether every child has an equal opportunity to flourish depends on the conditions we create together.
This conviction is the moral center of the Moonshot Ecosystem.
Our work is grounded in the Declaration of Independence, constitutional principles, evidence and science, and the dignity of every person. Its three enduring commitments are:
Democracy — citizens should be able to understand and help shape the decisions that affect their lives.
Opportunity — every person should have a genuine chance to develop health, capability, security, purpose, and contribution.
Citizenship — people are not spectators of public life. They are its authors.

Bring citizens, experience, expertise, and competing perspectives into serious public inquiry.

Provide practical tools that help people navigate systems, ask better questions, participate in public processes, and work with others.
Learn and share
Follow what happens, measure what can be learned, correct mistakes, and return those lessons to the public through journalism and storytelling.
No single platform can do all of this. The strength of the ecosystem lies in the way its parts work together.

Social media extends Moonshot Press beyond its own platforms. It helps people encounter an idea, a question, a story, or a public invitation in the places where they already spend time.
Each channel has a distinct civic role, while pointing toward deeper understanding, deliberation, and participation.
LinkedIn: Professional dialogue about democracy, leadership, health, work, technology, and the social contract.
Facebook: Community connection, local initiatives, accessible explainers, events, and intergenerational conversation.
Instagram: Visual storytelling, the Moonshot Class of 2026, quotations, short explainers, and human-centered narratives.
YouTube: Video explainers, interviews, public forums, educational series, and documentary-style storytelling as the channel develops.

People’s Commissions: Citizens learning together.
People’s Commissions create structured spaces for citizens, families, professionals, researchers, advocates, and public officials to learn together.
They examine evidence, experience, tradeoffs, values, and public responsibilities. Their purpose is not to manufacture agreement or substitute for government. It is to help make the choices before the public clearer and to develop more grounded questions, recommendations, and accountability.
Current work includes the Technology Commission, the First 1,000 Days initiative, and the Head Start
Citizen Deliberation.
The Citizen Toolbox and Citizen Lab
From understanding to agency.
The Citizen Toolbox provides practical civic infrastructure: Citizen Briefs, ecosystem maps, tracers, checklists, action guides, public-question banks, testimony planners, accountability cards, and calendars.
The Citizen Lab develops digital tools that help people explore public information, understand local conditions, see public responsibility, and identify practical next steps.
Together, these tools help make citizenship more comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful.

Communities and demonstrations
National perspective. Local voice.
Moonshot Press connects national questions with local civic life.
Thrive in Montco PA is our first local demonstration: a place to test whether journalism, public deliberation, civic tools, and community knowledge can help strengthen the conditions in which children, families, and communities flourish.
The purpose is not to impose a national model on a community. It is to develop methods and tools that local communities can adapt, challenge, improve, and make their own.

The Moonshot Class of 2026
Keeping public decisions connected to real lives.
The Moonshot Class is a cross-cutting generational lens for the entire ecosystem.
The National Moonshot Class of 2026 uses composite child profiles to illuminate different American realities. The Montco PA Moonshot Class brings the question into local focus: what conditions will help children born here thrive?
The Moonshot Class is not a separate children’s project. It is a continuing test for every public question we explore:
Does this strengthen the conditions in which the next generation can flourish?
Research, salutogenesis, and responsible technology
Evidence in service of human flourishing.
Moonshot Press works in partnership with the Institute for Salutogenesis, which explores the conditions that create health, well-being, agency, and human flourishing.
This perspective asks not only what is broken, but also what helps people and communities become more capable of meeting life’s challenges.
Artificial intelligence supports research, synthesis, tool-building, and public learning across the ecosystem. It operates within human and constitutional guardrails: editorial judgment, ethical responsibility, public accountability, and final decisions remain with people.

There is no single required path.
You may begin as a reader, a parent, a clinician, an educator, a community organizer, a researcher, a public official, a local participant, or simply a citizen with a question that matters.
Read an article. Explore a tool. Meet the Moonshot Class. Contribute experience. Join a deliberation. Bring a question to your community.
The Moonshot Ecosystem becomes real when citizens enter it—not as spectators, but as co-authors of public life.
What success looks like
We will not judge this work only by clicks, followers, or downloads. Those measures can show reach, but not civic health.
The deeper outcomes we seek are:

citizens who can understand complexity and act with greater agency;
